I was born in 1962. At school the violin caught my interest, so in 1981 I started working in the repair workshop of Merling violinmakers in Copenhagen, where I learnt a lot of basic craftsmanship.

In 1982 I was admitted to Newark school of Violin Making in England. Here I made several violins, a viola and a cello, and I graduated in 1985 with a diploma of merit standard.

The following year I worked as a violinmaker with Merling in Copenhagen before joining Geigenbau Machold in Bremen, where I spent three interesting years in the workshop. Precious instruments passed through the workshop every day, and I learnt very much about restoration from working with such instruments.

From 1989 I worked for 1½ years in Zürich, taking part in opening of Geigenbau Machold´s branch there.

On the 5th of November 1990 I opened my own shop at Gasværksvej 15 in Copenhagen.
