Repairs

In the workshop I undertake all kinds of repairs, and I like to think that everything can be repaired. I do large and small repairs, gluing of cracks, bridges, soundposts, new fingerboards, new pegs among other things.

Maintenance
Stringed instruments have longer "lives" than people, and survive in good condition for hundreds of years, if they are taken well care of. It is important to look after your instrument, because it gives you a better sound and ensures the survival of the instrument.
Maintenance is a large part of my work, and includes among other things shooting of fingerboards making the pegs work, cleaning, polishing, and varnish work.

Sound adjustment
Seeing that each stringed instrument has its own individual tone, it may be necessary to adjust it in order to obtain the tone best suited to the individual player. This job I can only do together with the musician, as it is a question of finding the right balance, colour, strength or warmth. Generally it is not possible to change the character of the sound, but we can accentuate or tone down various elements.
