Major restorations are from time to time necessary either
for the preservation of an instrument or to ensure a better tone.
Old cracks can be cleaned and reglued, deformation of the
arching can be corrected, patches put in to reinforce damages,
new necks put in, and damage to the varnish retouched, among
other things.
I was fortunate enough to obtain a wide experience in
restoring fine old instruments during my learning years,
and I am happy that today many large restorations jobs
are entrusted to me in my own workshop.
